Other CalPoly Concerts - Spring ‘06
Aside from the aforementioned String Ensemble Concert, which will take place May 23rd at 8pm, here a few other concerts in which I’ll be participating this quarter:
- May 22nd, 8pm: The Cal Poly MIDI Band, under the direction of Dr. Stan Gibb - one of the group’s original creators - will be performing tunes from a variety of styles. Returning to the stage as a part of our program that evening will be my arrangement of Chris Vrenna’s “Flying on the Wings of Steam - Remix”, from the excellent video game, American McGee’s Alice. Admission: $7, in the Recital Hall.
- May 25, 8pm: The University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will be performing “Images of Home”, featuring the music of John Williams, Lebo M and Hans Zimmer, Kurt Bestor, Stephen Sondheim, and much more! Admission: $7, in the Recital Hall.
- May 30, 8pm: While I am not a part of the Cal Poly Jazz Band, my other half, James, is!
Don’t miss this group’s performance; they always put on an exciting show. This quarter, special guest saxophonist, Javon Jackson, will be sharing the stage with the Jazz Band. Admission: $7, in the Recital Hall.
